Stagecoach In Newcastle Changes

Following customer requests, Stagecoach in Newcastle are making some improvements to these services from Sunday 25th October 2015

Services 6, 7, 8: To accommodate the increasing levels of traffic congestion encounted on these services, Monday to Friday peak timetables will be revised, with some trips needing to take longer to reach their destinations.

Service 22: Working in partnership with Cobalt, buses are extended from Wallsend High Street to additionally serve Rosehill, Howdon, Silverlink and Cobalt Business Park. This extended route also provides handy new links to Tyne Met College (at Willington Square). As a result of this new route, buses will no longer stop at Wallsend Metro. However, alternative bus stops are nearby on Wallsend High Street.

To help speed commuters between Newcastle City Centre and Cobalt during Monday to Friday peak times, a special express Service 22X will provide some additional limited-stop journeys from Newcastle Central Station, Grainger Street and Market Street, then direct to Cobalt Business Park (only stopping at Willington Square on the way).

Service 22 continues to run up to every 10 mins during Monday to Saturday daytimes, with evening and Sunday buses running as far as Silverlink, every 20 mins. There’s also some late evening Monday to Friday trips from Cobalt.
