Choirs Invited To Perform Christmas Carols On Metro
***PRESS RELEASE FROM NEXUS***
The Tyne and Wear Metro is calling upon North East choirs of all ages and backgrounds, to take part in a month of Christmas Carols at stations across the network, in a bid to raise money for charity this coming festive season.
Each participating group will be able to choose the local or national charity they want to raise money for.
Sharon Kelly, Managing Director at Metro operator DB Regio Tyne and Wear, said: “December is a month of festive cheer and Christmas celebrations and we hope this activity will not only help passengers get into the spirit but also raise much needed funds for worthy causes.
“We are calling upon choirs to come forward as soon as they can to register their preferred choice of station and date - and then get practising! From hymns and traditional carols to some of the more contemporary Christmas songs that we know and love, we can’t wait to hear them.”
Choirs wishing to take part need to send their preferred date and station to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. No choirs will be allowed at the stations during home football matches.
