Trains To Resume To/From Carlisle

Northern Rail, one of the UK’s largest train operators, has promised compensation to its customers following a month of disruption on the railway line between Carlisle and Newcastle.

Network Rail engineers have been working at the site at Farnley Hough, near Corbridge, since 7th January. They have cleared over 35,000 tonnes of soil and debris from the site after the wettest month on record caused a nearby drainage pipe to break.

The line will re-open on Monday 8th February 2016.
