Durham Tees Valley Wants To Get Its London Link Back

Direct flights are set to resume between Durham Tees Valley and Heathrow airports, but maybe not until 2030 the Government confirmed recently.

The airport had a long-standing link to/from London Heathrow in past, until March 2009 when British Midland ran the route.

The Government gave the go-ahead for the runway last October, when it was suggested Durham Tees Valley could be one of the airports to benefit, but Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has now revealed detailed proposals.

The Department for Transport has confirmed it “expects” Belfast International, Liverpool, Newquay, Humberside, Prestwick and Durham Tees Valley to be added to Heathrow’s existing eight-strong domestic network by 2030
