Northern Strike Tomorrow Monday 13th March

Northern rail services are being disrupted on Monday 13th March 2017 due to strike action and passengers are advised to plan ahead to avoid travel chaos.

All Northern routes in North East England will be affected – some will have a limited service and some routes no service at all, and there will be no Northern trains anywhere in the North East in the earliest hours or beyond the early evening with services starting around 0700 and finishing by 1800.

Passengers are advised to AVOID TRAVEL wherever possible, services are going to be extremely limited and busy.

If you must travel, then Northern rail tickets will be accepted on sister company, Arriva North East buses with additional buses running on key routes where possible. Train tickets for travel between Sunderland and Newcastle Central are valid on the Tyne & Wear Metro.

Passengers should also consider using other local buses for other routes, where tickets will have to be purchased from your driver as normal or travel with a different rail operator.
