Changes To Arriva Darlington Routes

Arriva are making some changes to some routes in Darlington and Durham from 20th May 2018.

Service 6 - Durham to Cockfield: Following customers’ requests, all Sunday and Public Holiday journeys will extend to Evenwood and Cockfield, creating new links at these times. As a result, buses from Durham to Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland and West Auckland will run 15 minutes earlier than now. However, there will be no changes to the times of buses travelling from West Auckland to Bishop Auckland, Spennymoor and Durham.

Service 13A/13B - Darlington to Firth Moor: A revised timetable will be in operation, with some minor revisions to timetable on journeys operating before 08:00. The main daytime frequency is unchanged, with buses continuing to operate up to every 5 minutes.

Service 19 - Darlington to West Park: The Sunday timetable will be revised, which will see journeys from Faverdale to Darlington operating around 5 minutes earlier than they currently do now.

Service X66/X67 - Darlington to Middlesbrough: A revised timetable will be in operation on this service, which will see a reduction to the number of early morning and late afternoon journeys that extend to/from Darlington to Faverdale.

The Monday to Saturday 06:42 Service X66 from Middlesbrough to Darlington will be revised to additionally serve Hartburn, offering an earlier arrival into Darlington for residents of West Stockton.

On Saturday mornings, Arriva are introducing an additional Service X67 journey from Stockton at 08:24 to Darlington, via Hartburn, arriving into Darlington at 08:57.

Furthermore, evening journeys from Darlington are also retimed to operate 5 minutes earlier throughout, with the addition of a new 21:25 Service X66 from Darlington to Stockton on Monday to Saturdays, arriving at 21:59. This journey replaces the current 21:30 Service 66 from Darlington to Whinbush, which is withdrawn. The 22:35 Service 66 will continue to operate as normal.

Service 86 - Bishop Auckland to Toft Hill: Most Monday to Saturday daytime buses will operate directly between Etherley Dene and Witton Park, omitting Escomb Village. This is to speed up journeys and improve punctuality for the majority of people who use this service. As a result, a revised timetable will be in place with buses running a few minutes earlier or later than now. Some Monday to Friday peak-time journeys and the Monday to Saturday evening buses operated by Go North East between Bishop Auckland and Toft Hill will continue to serve Escomb.
