Changes To Stagecoach In Newcastle Routes

From 24th March 2019, Stagecoach North East are making some service changes in Newcastle.

Service 1: To assist reliability, there are some minor timing changes to Monday to Friday morning buses from Cobalt and Coach Lane towards the City Centre, Benwell and Slatyford. However, main frequencies continue unchanged, with buses running up to every 7 minutes between Coach Lane and Cruddas Park, with alternate buses extending to Slatyford or Buddle Road every 15 minutes, and also across to Cobalt Business Park every 30 minutes.

Services 6 & 7: There are some minor timing changes to mid-afternoon westbound buses running through the Kingston Park and Kenton areas, to help with timekeeping. Main frequencies continue unchanged, with buses combining to run up to every 20 minutes during daytimes, and every 30 minutes during the evening.

Services 10 & 11: To further assist reliability, peak time journeys are retimed, with some trips running earlier or later, and most peak trips taking longer to reach their destinations. However, buses will continue to combine and run up to every 10 minutes between North Kenton - City Centre - West Road - Denton Burn, then to West Denton Shops or West Denton Park.

Service 12: To reflect current traffic conditions, there are some minor timing changes in the Walker and Wallsend areas.

Service 22: Monday to Friday peak time trips are revised so as to aid reliability for customers, However, basic frequencies continue unchanged, with buses running up to every 10 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes, and every 20 minutes during evenings and Sundays.

Services 30 & 31: To assist reliability, there’s some minor timing changes to buses at Delaval Road, and also trips departing from Pilgrim Street. However, basic frequencies continue unchanged, with buses combining to operate up to every 7 minutes between Whickham View and Gosforth.

Service 35: Monday to Saturday afternoon buses are slightly retimed to operate 5 minutes later.

Service 38/38A: There are some timing revisions, with early morning service 38A trips revised to operate up to 5 minutes earlier, and the mid-evening bus from Quorum will depart at 20:12.

Services 39 & 40: To further aid reliability, most daytime trips on service 40 will depart from Chapel House 1 minute earlier, and most westbound daytime trips on both services will depart from Blackett Street 1 minute earlier.

Services 62 & 63: The service 63 departure at 18:38 from Chapel House, and the service 62 departure at 18:50 from North Walbottle are both revised to operate up to 3 minutes earlier. All other services remain unchanged.

Service 68: This route will run non-stop between Four Lane Ends and Tyneview Park. This change will allow buses to divert at times when traffic congestion is at its most problematic. There’s also a minor change to the early afternoon timetable, with the 16:05 departure from Tyne View Park and the 16:27 departure from Four Lane Ends withdrawn.

Service 71: The Monday to Saturday 17:19 journey from Throckley is revised to depart at 17:14 and operate 5 minutes earlier. There are no other changes to service 71.

Services 991 & 995: Services 991 and 995 are revised to run non-stop between Benton Park View and Tyneview Park. Service 995 is also revised to run up to 6 minutes earlier.

Service X47: Early morning journeys from Kingston Park being slightly advanced. Basic frequencies continue unchanged, with buses running up to every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes, and every 20 minutes during evenings and Sundays.

Service X63: There are some changes to the Monday to Friday morning timetable. However, basic frequencies continue unchanged, with buses running up to every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes.

Services X77/X78/X79: There are some minor timetable changes, with the 06:15 and 07:25 departures from Eldon Square (via Darras Hall at 06:49 and 07:59) revised to operate up to 5 minutes earlier to ensure more prompt arrivals in Newcastle.

Services X87 & X88: Following customer and councillor requests, Monday to Saturday daytime service X88 trips are revised to additionally operate via Etal Way and Meadow Rise. To accommodate this route change, most journeys on services X87 and X88 are slightly retimed. Evening and Sunday trips on service X88, as well as all trips on service X87 will continue to operate direct via Etal Lane.
