LNER Ready To Launch To Azuma

LNER is getting ready to launch the fancy new Azuma train.

After more than 30 years since the famous East Coast Mainline, which runs from Scotland to London via the North East, had a refresh. Now it's time for new trains on this iconic railway.

From Wednesday 15th May 2019 brand new trains named, Azuma, will run along the line. The name comes from the Japanese word for "East" and is built using Japanese bullet train technology.

The increased fleet of 65 trains, up from 45 currently, have been built by Hitachi's UK manufacturing team in County Durham, using parts supplied from the north east. 

The new trains are set to launch between Leeds, Hull and London Kings Cross on 15th May 2019, before being introduced to/from the North East as new train sets become available.

The Azuma runs on diesel & electric hybrid, this bi-mode capabaility will allow the trains to be more resilient during disruption. Some of the best features of the new trains include...
