Arriva In Newcastle Changes From Today

Arriva North East are making changes to some bus routes in the Tyne & Wear area from today, Sunday 19th May 2019.

Service 43: This service will have a revised timetable, with most buses running a few minutes earlier or later to improve punctuality. Following customers’ requests, the Monday to Friday journey at 06:49 from Bedlington to Newcastle will start in Morpeth at 06:26, providing an earlier link to Cramlington. Some Monday to Friday ‘peak time’ buses will also start/finish at Crow Hall Lane in Cramlington, improving links from this area to Newcastle. However, a small number of Saturday morning journeys will be withdrawn due to very low usage. Buses will use Stand S instead of Stand R in the Newcastle Haymarket bus station.

Service 44/45: These services will have a revised timetable, with most buses running a few minutes earlier or later to improve punctuality. Unfortunately, a small number of Saturday morning journeys will be withdrawn due to very low usage. Buses will use Stand S instead of Stand R in the Newcastle Haymarket bus station.

Service 46: Most Monday to Friday ‘peak time’ journeys will run up to five minutes earlier or later to improve punctuality and reduce overcrowding on some parts of the route. Arriva will also be running bigger buses on the most popular Monday to Friday morning journeys from CAV to the RVI and Newcastle to ensure there is enough space for everyone. These journeys will finish in the Newcastle Haymarket bus station, where connections will be available for customers travelling to Gosforth, Regent Centre and Featherstone Grove. Buses travelling towards Regent Centre, Brunton Park and Featherstone Grove will use Stand T instead of Stand S in the Newcastle Haymarket bus station.

Service 55: Most Monday to Friday ‘peak time’ buses will run up to five minutes earlier or later to improve punctuality. Early morning, evening and Sunday journeys will run a few minutes later to better co-ordinate with other services in the Newcastle Haymarket bus station.

Service 306: This service will have a revised timetable, with most journeys running a few minutes earlier or later to improve punctuality and co-ordinate with other buses along the Coast Road.

Service 308: This service will have a revised timetable, with most journeys running a few minutes earlier or later to improve punctuality and co-ordinate with other buses along the Coast Road. Following customers’ requests, the Monday to Friday journey at 06:15 from Whitley Bay to Blyth will start from Billy Mill at 06:06, providing earlier links from this area.

Service 552: To improve punctuality, the Monday to Friday afternoon buses will leave Tyneview Park at 16:05 and 17:05, then run two minutes earlier throughout to the Regent Centre. There are no other changes to the route or timetable.

Service 553: Arriva are improving the Monday to Friday morning service between Regent Centre and the Freeman Hospital, with buses running half-hourly instead of hourly in each direction from around 06:30. However, the journeys at 06:18 from Battle Hill to Wallsend, 07:02 from Wallsend to Battle Hill and 07:18 from Battle Hill to Wallsend will be withdrawn due to very low usage.

Service X6: Most journeys will run a few minutes earlier or later to improve punctuality and co-ordinate with other services in the Newcastle Haymarket bus station. Unfortunately, the Monday to Friday journeys at 06:18 from Newcastle to Cobalt and 18:11 from Cobalt to Newcastle will be withdrawn due to low usage.

Service X9: Buses will use Stand T instead of Stand S in Newcastle Haymarket bus station. There are no changes to the route or timetable.

Service X10/X11: Buses will use Stand U instead of Stand T in Newcastle Haymarket bus station. There are no changes to the route or timetable.
