To aid reliability, there are changes to the timetable, although overall frequencies remain unchanged, with daytime buses running hourly, and evening buses every 2 hours. The last journey each evening from South Shields is revised to terminate at Boldon Asda - However, alternative and more direct links between the town centre and Fellgate are provided by revised Service X20.
Services E1, E2 and E6: There are some changes to the times of early morning and late evening buses, with the introduction of some later last buses from South Shields all the way through to Sunderland. The short journeys on Service E6 during early Saturday and Sunday mornings between South Shields town centre and Marsden are revised, and will operate as Service 7 and 8 as far as Marsden Inn (Prince Edward Road).
Service X20: To provide more direct journeys to South Shields town centre, buses are revised to operate via Chichester Road, and will no longer serve Westoe. Daytime buses are revised to run around 25 minutes later, which should provide more convenient arrivals and departures from the town centre. Following customer requests, a late evening trip is reintroduced, departing from South Shields at 2305 towards Fellgate, direct via Newcastle Road.
