Loganair Steps In To Save Regional Flights

Regional airline, Loganair, has stepped in quickly to save UK regional flights following todays sad announcement that Flybe has ceased trading.

The airline, which is nicknamed Scotland's Airline, has announced it will take up 16 of Flybe's former routes including 2 of those to/from Newcastle.

The Newcastle - Exeter and Newcastle - Southampton routes were formally operated by Flybe and Loganair have announced they will step in to take over the routes.

The Newcastle - Exeter route will run daily from 6th July 2020 and the Newcastle - Southampton route will commence on the 23rd March running 3 x daily. Fares on both routes start at £54.99 one way with both operating on the airlines ERJ aircraft with either 37 or 49 seats.

The company is bringing in extra planes over the next few weeks in order to run the routes. All Loganair fares include a free hold baggage allowance, allocated seating and in-flight refreshments. Loganair is also one of few UK airlines to offer discounted fares for children and a free baggage allowance for infants, even if travelling on a parent’s lap.
